 not sure about that one Trev, back then  folks bought stuff for life, the marketing men knew there was not enough money around that sticking another bit of chrome on would have thousands rushing to buy the latest model ..
Indeed there were times you had to order some marks and then wait months for delivery

I imagine that by 1958 there was no shortage of new machines and people were more demanding and would not take any old thing.
