Yep, and I think there used to a conversion kit for the Commando too.
God knows why though, OK for Morris Minors, but on a motorbike?

There was a popular conversion kit for Commandos using a single SU, I think this is one of those carbs?

Also used on early Triumph 6T if I remember correctly. I had one when I was 18, bought it for £5, the whole bike, not just the carb!

G'day Fellas.
I like SU's. A common mod for HD's back in the day. They are a CV (constant velocity) carb and aren't affected by altitude variations and have an adjustable main jet. I've tuned a couple of HD's with them, one being a std 80" Sturgis and the other being a fire breathing Evo. Once the float height is set it's smooth sailing.
When I was racing the A7SS she was emptying the bowls on the twin 932 Amals (11 Miles Per Gallon) so I used the float chamber of an SU to supply extra fuel.

Melbourne vegans would probably argue that twice the CO2 from a plant based fuel is better than 1/2 the CO2 from fossel fuels.
But we all know the level of Melbourne Vegans understabding of science .
