Wanted A7 centre stand
« on: 17.08. 2015 07:31 »
Hello all.

I'm in the desperately in need of a centre stand for a BSA A7 that I am refurbishing, so if you have a spare one kicking about under the bench, or hanging up  in the workshop please call me on # or PM me.

Many thanks in advance

 TTJohn

Do you want an early one, like the stump-jump plough that I know nothing about, or a later pivoting one...?
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

Hello Dutch.

Yes, I require the pivoting one for a 1954 S/A A7, not quite sure what you mean about the stump jump plough job.

Hi TT John,
I'mm not 100% sure but I think the 54/55 "A" uses the same stand as the B series and Gold Stars?
If this is the case Autocycle Engineering in Dudley had a huge pile of  them on the shop floor when I visited in April *ex*

Quite correct John, I phoned them and got the stand plus rod, nuts and spacer for just underĀ£100.
Thanks mate.

TT-John, I'd forgotten where this post was, but figured it'd turn up....The "Do you want an early one, like the stump-jump plough that I know nothing about,....." is by my understanding from the first of the A7 'Vertical Twin' I thought '46, but there seems to be some dispute over the year... It's the stand that apparently telescopes up into the frame downtube and is held by some kind of flimsy catch setup that reputedly could come loose and the stand drop down and drag on the ground, kinda like a plough share, and cause stability issues  *dunno*;-
