Plunger Gear Box Problem

Got my 55A10 plunger running great shifts like a dream with only one problem..Going from first to second it shudders and slips also from 3rd to fourth same thing..Took it all appart(gear box that is)only noticed the bottom 2 tranny bolts were really loose all else inside looks brand new..Could this be a primary problem/cush drive slippage have not checked any of that stuff yet..

But its OK from 2nd to 3rd  *????*
It sounds like a clutch thing. Make sure the pressure plate is lifting squarely and the springs are tight enough.

 That sounds like a thing I have too, but not all the time and maybe just at 1st gear liftoff.....feels like a clutch thang ....but odd that yours does it between those two changes.....haven't fully bothered to investigate mine
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

I think I got it ..Clutch hub nut backed off and was very loose..Tightened that and bent tab washer tightened primary chain which was a little loose..I took her for a spin and no more problem..I guess it ended up being the clutch hub shifts like a dream very smooth now..Gotta love these old things..

 Something else for me to check on, though mine's been doing it since I got it back on the road,  and I've been inside the basket a few times- fairly sure I checked but will keep it in mind. .. But am also thinking I may need some of those oversize rollers that Tom? was after the other day. ...
