Here we have a lightly used vintage anti-wet sumping valve for sale.
offers please.
I'll throw the plug in for free as I got a bit emotional while removing it.
Its a shame the cases have to be split to instal it.

I think you have demonstrated the possible cause of 99,9 % of wetsumping occurences.
