Engine "surging"
« on: 08.10. 2014 23:49 »
Hi
Riding the A10 today the engine was surging/revving faster than expected as I increased the throttle anything above the initial position.
The only thing I've done to it since last riding is to fit an in-line external oil filter on the return and drained/changed the oil with an SRM sump added as well. Surely nothing to do with the surging?
Thought it might be a carb problem maybe?
Any thoughts for a novice mechanic/bodger.
Thanks
Peter

Was it behaving normally before you changed things?

Yes normal throttle last time I rode which was about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I'll check the fuel tank breather today.
Thanks
Peter

Found out today that one HT lead was "fractured" internally and so was intermittently connecting/not connecting.
After fixing seems she is running sweetly again.
Thanks

That's good Bob.
Shows the old saying "most carb problems are electrical"
