Just to introduce myself
I have just acquired a BSA Shooting Star
Current mileage since restoration 250 miles
I know very little about BSAs so will be asking many silly questions
I had a number of BSAs when I was a nipper C11, C12, and A10s
I started biking again 25 years ago and quickly got into outfits an had great fun touring and camping with my wife and eldest grand son.
The outfits included a Z1300, ST1100, a number of Guzzies and a Vincent Comet with a Jet80(first watsonion glass fiber sidecar with a super silk chassis)
I still have the Comet but wanted a solo to replace my competent but boring scooter.
I wanted an A7 as I remember that they were smoother than the A10
I have changed the center stand to one with an extention(the bike seems much heavier than recall)
fitted a rack(suppied with bike) and Topbox and have fitted a new rectifier and carburetter drip tray.
The center stand I purcased needed about four days to modify to fit.
The carburetter drip tray needed fetterling to allow the magneto cable to flow.
I have meet up with the local BSA club who are very friendly and have given me usful advice and help.
