My '55 Plunger has a large tank.

G'day Drew. That's a good way to start a project. Were all/most of the other bits supplied with it? I notice that it has a rigid type tool box, same as my '51 A7 plunger. BSA were well known to use what they had if a part was out of stock. They must have had a large stock of rigid ones.
Yes the tanks are large. I could never understand why most bikes supplied to the US had such small tanks. With distances to travel similar to here (au) they'd barely make the next town.

Looks like it will be a great project to have! My '53 A10 plunger has the large tank as well :)

It is about 85% complete I have the top end waiting for a good honing and new valve guides and need to go through mag and lots of other little things..Im working on tank now lots of dents etc..Im going to make it all gloss black ..
I do have an A7 twin carb next in line this is my first plunger so im learning as I go..

Snap! Interesting to compare the two photos. My saddle is sitting lower than yours; I don't know which is more correct. My machine had a dual seat when I bought it. I wanted a single saddle so bought one and springs. I made a U-shaped bracket for the front of the saddle that gave me a level seat, hence the overall height. I like the 'Bobber' look that the low single seat gives.
Also I see that your bikes rear light points slightly upwards, mine is horizontal.

Those were my thoughts precisely regarding the saddle and I did exactly the same as you by making the front U bracket. I suppose it's just which pattern saddle we went for?

I see what you mean about the rear light, I think I have the original under the bench again, it may be down to the use of patter parts?
