Hi Martin.
Treated myself this year to a Rev counter for my 1960 Super Rocket, always wanted one, found it strange on a sports model not to be fitted as standard, only as option, but standard for export. My headlamp nacelle was removed many years ago and replaced with separate headlamp. So I have twin clock arrangement, positioned side by side. Using nacelle with separate Rev Counter might look a little odd, only my opinion. Your drive should be via the oil pump, you will find blank plate on lower part of inner timing cover, this is replaced by drive adaptor and cable.
Rev Counter Part No - RC1303/03, 3 to 1, anti clockwise.
Hard to find now and even rough examples go for silly money, any chronometric speedo or rev counter could be converted by specialists, I used Ashley Pople @ Speedo Repairs.

Hi Billy 'I presume' thanks for the part numbers, that's a great help. Yea I heard they are like rocking horse poo to find and they don't suit as well as the twin clock arrangement. But I think I'll try source one anyway.

HI Martin,
Check that you have the correct inner timing case fitted as Billy said it has a little plate held on with 2, 3/16 screws
inside the plate you should see a slotted end on the oil pump drive
More bits to fine if they are missing  *sad2*

Some months ago I was looking for the same tach.  Russell Smalley at chronometrics uk was very helpful, he supplied one complete and also repaired a couple of other clocks for me. The proper tach mechanism has stronger return springs, I was told, than the speedo to respond quicker to falling revs. Converted speedos do not necessarily have the correct mechanism and give a 'lazy' response.
No connection other than pleased with the service.

Hi Martin.
Your Super Rocket must be pre 1960 if you have older type inner timing cover without Rev Counter interface, I would also presume your oil pump is earlier type with out slotted end drive spindle, not to worry oil pump can be converted by fitting later spindle end 42-0156.
I,m sure they,s a thread on this forum where the older type inner timing case can be modified to Rev Counter type by a forum member.
