Speedo Mount
« on: 27.02. 2014 16:38 »
In true old school (skool?) style I'm running with my chronometric sitting in a bent aluminium mount bolted under one of the fork top bolts. I busted my first one falling off in '79 and notice that the replacement is beginning to fatigue through at the fold. I know these come up occasionally on eBay but does anyone know of a supplier for these - either in al or stainless?

I got a pair of stainless ones from Lightning Spare years ago.
They were perfectly flat though. No bend in them. But they didn't break. They alloy ones always break at the bend.  I might still have them kicking about if you have no luck. I went for a single centre mounted speedo bracket when I went from cafe racer to street scrambler.
Cheers,
iain

If you still need a Chronometric mount, I have one that was made to hold both a speedo and tach. It is a piece of flat steel, chrome plated, that fits under the fork tube nuts.  I don't know if it was custom made or not--it came on a A10 that had some other bits chromed as well.
