Hi I am new to this forum and have just got myself a nice unrestored 1954 A10 I live in new zealand and wopuld appreciate any comments on the bike as far as i can see it is complete with the exception of main and side stand and the horn (have changed handle bars since pic taken)

Welcome. It's good to see you've found the forum. I'm no expert on your year or model, but it looks like a great project, or, just ride it as is and enjoy if that's what suits you. You will find lots of help here, as you may have already noticed, particularly for your bike. Just look at our administrator's bike on the BSAGoldenFlash intro page.

By the way, I'm not exactly sure, but you may be our first Kiwi. (If I have overlooked some other Kiwi I should actually remember, please write it off to brain block.)

Your bike is the same as one of my A10's and looks just fine My A10 was in about the same state as yours however the chrome was not to bad.
I decided to tidy it up a bit this year so having obtained the headlight cowl and fork leg covers along with an oil tank to replace the chrome one that was fitted and being lucky at Cheltenham Auto jumble (uk) I set about cleaning -polishing -and respraying I am pleased with the result and apart from my time the cost was under Â£250.

Welcome to the forum, Mike. Are there many BSAs for sale in NZ? I'm hoping to do the 2010 BSA rally there and wondered if it would be possible to buy a bike over there rather than ship mine across.

Hi there are a few but mostly B31's and they are pricey I had to wait nearly 3 yrs for this one to come up, when is the bsa rally goinmg from in 2010 mine will sure be finished by then and it would be good to go on, updated pic attached

I think the event is in February but I can't find it now on the BSAOC website, which seems to have not been updated lately. I'm not currently in the club, though I used to be secretary of the East Midlands branch. There are no branches in Scotland so the benefits of being in the club are somewhat diminished since I moved up here.
