Mchine shop in Melbourne Aust.
« on: 16.05. 2013 05:10 »
Hi All, I'm getting very frustrated because I've been waiting 6 months now for a local machine shop to machine my headstock so that I can get on with my rebuild - you may remember from my prior posts that the bearing cup doesn't sit flat/square in the upper bearing holder because its been loose and bashed around by prior abusers  *sad2*. It took me a few months of searching previously to find somebody prepared/capable of doing the job which is why I've been "patient", til now....
Does anybody know of a capable machine shop in/around Melbourne that would take on such a job pleeaeaeaeaese???? ta....

G'day Jules, the only fella I know down there is John Scerri at Lytedrive. Funny bloke to talk to but isn't short on the grey matter.
lytedrive@optusnet.com.au  hope he still has that email.

Cheers

"He's not cheap"
I know nothing about him, but that is already a good endorsement!

Couldn't imagine a business like that in Mont Albert being cheap  *eek*
Getting what you pay for is more important.
Not sure if they still do jobbing work...or if they're still operating the lathes but Vickery Engineering/Richmond Steel supplies in Burnley used to do high quality bits and pieces for me.

Give Greg Ditchfield a call in Ballarat. He's working on a couple of A10's at the moment. Manxclassic spares. 0408503920.
