Hi, from California,1963 RGS owner

Got a 1963 BSA A10 Rocket gold star from a friend at work who decided he will never fix it,he did a few chopper type mods in the late 60's, sorry could not post a pic,it says the file is too large? Anyone know how to identify a real RGS scrambler ? Looks like some great info here ,thanks

Hi, I'm new to the forum too and found lots of very helpful people! I was watching an A10 chopper on ebayUS a few weeks ago, extended forks but with lots of super rocket/rgs bits...wondering if thats your one?

                                                          A chopped RGS  *eek*  will get the heckles up of a few. But when you get it going and it puts a smile on your dial, that's all that matters.

http://goldstarspitfires.weebly.com/ welcome to RGS Spitfire ownership. This link has some info for your research. Your engine # will start with DA10 and your frame # will start with DA10R. You can send the complete engine and frame #s to the GSOC in the UK for confirmation of build date and dispatch. There were 266+ manufactured, with all but about 6 done in 1963. Good luck with yuour project, and keep us posted.

Hi Wicklewood,

Welcome. Looking forward to your photos as soon as you work out the size issue. What part of California? I'm from the San Fernando Valley, now living in Chicagoland. At some point you will have a decision to make about whether to go back to stock (or nearly so) or to carry through with the chopper/bobber theme. I think this may hinge strongly on what, if anything, has been done to the frame.
