Hello,
My 54 A7 Shooting Star comes from Delhi (I was working there in the 90's for a few years) It was "restored" by Vinod Sharma. It took awhile to track a twin down as most of the old Brit stuff are singles. If you happen to visit Delhi go to the Karol Bagh district where the motor bazzar is and you can find some really interesting stuff. It's amazing how these old bikes keep running in the heat and the traffic conditions, mine never left me stranded in 3 years of use - not to say that I didn't have problems. Vinod provided an unlimted warranty in return for me bringing back hard to find spares from the odd visit to the UK, he even lent me his 500 Goldstar whilst my timingside bearing was being replaced!! I had never ridden a British bike before going to India, but you always received offers to test ride anything at the dealers and I got hooked on Brit bikes fairly quickly. The whole experiance of classic bike ownership in Delhi was a joy - all the services and spares were silly prices (for a foreigner anyway) almost everything was done same day, there is a wealth of old fashioned engineers who can fix almost anything - Happy days
Regards
Duncan
