Hi All!
« on: 18.01. 2013 14:14 »
-Just thought I would introduce myself and me new 1952 black Golden Flash with no matching numbers which I picked up yesterday (pics to follow).
I am a 'young' 63, and sold my Triumph Rocket 111 Touring a few months ago, cos it tipped over on gravel and I found I couldn't lift it up any more! *idea*. My bike before that was a Sunbeam S8 which I didn't recondition, -rather I just stripped down to the synchromesh cones to make everything work right. Anyway, back on Topic (admin please note!), I have now returned to the classics and really looking forward to not having to press the starter and let the automatic choke do it's work ;). -Not *ex*.  -but I am looking forward to not seeing an engine management light twinkle expensively, instead  listening for the tell-tale little noises which allow you to ignore the problem 'till a more convenient time.
Rambling now, so must bid adieu and set off into that good night on me trus *eek*ty ----

welcome FlipDog
All the best with your Black Golden Flash, we look forward to the pics.
One problem solved already - the numbers didn't match, others here have a lot more A10 historical knowledge than I but I think BSA did not use matching numbers in the A range until the A50/65 s came about
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco

G'day FlipDog, welcome back to the world of real motorcycling. Skin off the knuckles, grease under the fingernails, pondering problems and a grin from ear to ear.
