Jet size
« on: 10.12. 2012 15:15 »
Hi
I am running a 600 MK1 Concentric on my 1954 standard Flash motor, which main jet should I be using please. It is currently fitted with a 170 but is untested to date.
It also has a letter 'V' stamped on the float bowl, what does this signify ?

Give it a quick burst at full throttle. If it responds normally, increase main jet by two sizes. Repeat until it runs all blubbery at full throttle, so you know the jet is too big.  Then, decrease main jet by one size at a time, until it runs well at full throttle.

Yes 26 mm bore. Running on basic unleaded. Will have to run this in before I can give it a handful; brand new motor. will be putting a castrol adertive in the next gallon
Thanks for the replies.
