An original tank for my BSA, just needs a re-chrome and paint.











I also bought a near mint set of primary cases, and a very decent auto advance unit...

Does your rev counter work or just for show?  *conf* would like 1 on my cafe racer but like the timing cover the way it is, like yours.

Great find Kev.
I was after an export tank for mine for years, gave up, found UK one and had it restored...of course you can buy UK ones new now, for less than it  cost me to have that one restored.
A lot of export tanks seem to have the badge indents in funny places. I  was looking at a picture of a pear shaped badge one recently, the badge just looked too low on the tank to my eye...I know its how they made 'em but
Anyway yours looks great and a nice fit on the bike.
I'm dead jealous.

ps.
Stav -Kev's bike has an a drive off the oil pump worm gear, like mine. You need to find a worm drive that has an extended notched clinder for the cable to fit, and the shoulder that bolts onto the outside of the inner chaincase. i got a worm drive new from Lightning Spares...but that was years ago!

I've been looking at the picture and trying to decide if the seat base curves in a way that matches the A10s frame. Is it whats fitted to the "Heartbeat" police A10?

The Rev counter does work, or it would if the drive spigot on the pump wasn't broken! an easy fix though.
A10 seats are funny, I guess it is to do with how they are fixed, as they all seem to dip like that, or maybe I am just fat! *smile*

I think the "dip" in the seat is really important to the character of A7/10s, it accentuates the sweep of the mudguard and its relationship with the frame.I suppose with these bikes we're looking at a natural transition from the lines of plunger/rigid frames.
I think they look much better than plank style seats of later bikes.

Just like a beautiful woman lying on her side!  *loveit*  The seats are something I take a lot of notice of, (and hourglass women too!) I especially like the flipped up back of Kev's seat rather than the hump back whale look of mine. I think this desire to have my seat looking like that stems from when I was a small lad, my Mum used to take me to the local fair and in entering the fairground we had to pass the lines of Rockers with their motorcycles. I do remember seeing the Gold Stars and the likes. The guys looked fearsome in Nazi style peak caps & leather jackets all along with Beatle music being played. Those times of the early  to mid sixties had left an impression on me.

The whole shape of the BSA frame - oil tank - seat - timing cover etc is just plain sexy..

Not as sexy as Pamela Anderson i admit - but close..
