WTB Rodark Panniers
« on: 17.06. 2012 04:48 »
Hi, I'm looking for a pair of Rodark panniers, preferably with the mounting frames but not essential. Any condition considered and will pay for shipping to Australia.
Thanks.
Matt.

Matt:

While it gets trickier as the number of members climbs,  the friendly nature of the forum is helped when new members introduce themselves and share somehting about their bike(s).

The following link from administration expresses this.

Having said this,  your request for Rodark paniers sent me searching.  Didn't find any,  but glad to hqve learned a bit about them.

Thanks Richard, good idea. I'll start an introduction thread in the members forum and thanks for looking.

Your best met may be to have a go at making a pair yourself.
I used to own some, they are really nothing more than a pair of ribbed mudguards, a hinge and a rectangular metal box cut to meet the line of the guard. The handles on them are 50's style kitchen cabinet handles which can still be bought new. Postage from the UK would be obscene, when added to the cost of a set if you can find them. I paid £80 for mine and that was about 20 years ago. I don't think you'll get a set any cheaper these days.
Cheers,
Iain

Matt there was someone here in AUS making them new, I remember seeing them for sale on e-bay I think.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it was this guy, would be worth a phone call or e-mail.

Do you still need these panniers as I've heard of some for sale?

Thanks for the heads up folks, found a cheep pair in the UK about a month ago, sorry should have said. The red ones on ebay right now look good, if they go for under 350 GBP they'll be cheap.
