Its a shame SRM don't do some improved set up for the six spring clutch, but then, with the six spring plate being much thicker I wonder if an alloy plate would be of very much improvement?
Yes it is a big improvement.
Buy the top hat adjuster , the radial roller bearing and the mushroom lifter.
Knock the pushrod cup out of your existing pressure plate and the top hat adjuster will just slip in from the inside.
You can slop a bit of Davcon on it if you feel you must but it will happily sit in there .
Use the adjustment nut to bolt it in tight, slip the rest of the bits in, remove the adjusting bolt from the gearbox and measure how much to chop off the end of the clutch pushrod ( should be around 1" to 1.5" ).
Some one in the USA does a 6 spring pressure platee I think it is Britcycle or British Bike Supply Co but their kit make the SRM kit look cheap.
Bill ( now deceased ) used to sell a similar bearing set up for the steel pressure plates and they made a big difference.
