.I am having problems with what is called BLUE screen,
AKA the Blue screen of death, Damn annoying Bearcat.
If your running a Windows version that has "Restore" points, run it to a restore date before you had the problem, might clear it
In Windows 7 to get to restore go into Control Panel - Action centre - recovery - open restore , other Windows version will differ but should have a restore if you delve around.
Also worth downloading something like CCleaner and run it from time to time, allows for non computer experts to clean up registry and get rid of harmfull stuff

I'm no expert with PC stuff either Gordon but Skype , a free phone service via your computer, I haven't discovered it's qualities as yet, I grew up with Sinclair stuff where you could type commands in to get something out, however Skipe I think means you can talk to lots of folk for free and wink at them too if you have a webcam

There is a handy little program called 'whocrashed' and this will read out the minidump files that report information on what went wrong. Normally the user is unable to read these dump files without an appropriate program.

Often a blue screen crash is due to conflicting drivers. My relatively new laptop (windows 7) suffered a number of disastrous crashes, it just simply restarted itself leaving me with only a few short seconds to read complicated white writing on a blue background. The problem I found when reading the dump files via 'WhoCrashed' was a conflicting driver belonging to Realtec. I then went to their website and updated the driver and have had no problems since.

Here is the website... http://www.resplendence.com/downloads and the free program to download is WhoCrash 3.03

Good Luck! (I prefer fixing BSAs though!)  *smile*

Thanks LJ,
I have bought a Toshiba laptop, but i was so used to Packard Bell, that i,m struggling the learning process all over again!!, so at the moment i am spending a little time with the new one and reverting back to the original. Back to the bike world, both whent in to Bosch service shop (Immingham) for M.O.T and passed with no adviseries, they collected and returned both , the Mechanic enjoyed riding them over the 24 mile return journey,he had never ridden an old Brit before and had a big smile,i,m not riding now ,but i also enjoyed listening to the sound of those pipes, not a rattle from the motors, *smiley4* *yeah*
