1953 A7 for sale at Kempton
« on: 29.01. 2012 15:00 »
I went to Kempton Park autojumble yesterday where I saw a chap selling an A7 that he had listed as 1953. On closer inspection it was a 1953 plunger frame with a 1948 long stroke engine, 47/48 complete front forks with QD brake hub, mudguard and stays, a correct rigid hinged rear mudguard with plunger stays attached and rigid lifting handles. It even had the correct 47/48 drive side front engine plate with dome cover. I don't believe he sold it as I saw him loading it back into his van at the end of the day. He might be there again at the next one.

Shame, I could really do with a domed engine plate and rigid lifting handles but think that it might be a bit much to buy the whole bike just for them.

I have not been to Kempton Park, I usually go to Newark Autojumble but it has turned into a Sunday market and is a waste of time so far as autojumble bike parts are concerned. What is Kempton like as an auatojumble. all the best Goldy

I find Kempton a realy good autojumble. They are usually held every 2 months and some can be better than others but still one of the best.

Hi Dave, think it was around £2850 but I may be mistaken. It had a 53 plunger frame and some of the other parts were later plunger ones. Yep, one piece rigid frames are like rocking horse poo as I found out when I got the urge to build a 48 rigid.
