Intro of new member
« on: 18.11. 2012 19:37 »
Hi my name is Angus. I have been looking at this forum for the last couple of years gathering info ready to do my first rebuild for 30+ years.
I bought the A7 in 1976 for £320. I rebuilt her in 1978 after lots and lots of happy miles, shortly after she got damaged and I found problems with the crank.
She then sat rotting in boxes for 30+ years in various garages, abused by children bikes and toys. I was going to start putting her back together myself 3 years ago and got to a rolling chassis but was not happy with my own work. So off to a professional
And now she is back bright shiny and sounding awesome.
Very happy to have her back and on the road, The best bike I ever had  *smile*

G'day Angus, welcome to the forum.
I wish the net & forum was around 30 years ago when I got my '51 A7.

Here are some pictures. Had a good look around the classic bike show at the NEC. She would not have been put to shame although she is not perfect, I purchased new wheel rims and re-chromed tanks and toolbox 35 years ago before she was boxed you. Although shiny and pretty good it has a few imperfections, particularly the Italian wheel rims.
