afternoon all, I got my a10 about 4 years ago, it was on the road and it ran very well, it had a new tank and exhaust and looked quite smart, its been used each summer since and hasn't given any trouble, however on close inspection the frame has been poorly painted and under the engine and gearbox its an oily mess, it also wetsumps badly and has a few oil leaks, so I decided i would strip it get the frame powder coated and give everything a good clean.

Here's a few pics. Since these were taken I have removed the oil tank, tool box and battery tray. Taken off the primary cover and timing cover and I'm currently letting the oil drain until tomorrow.

Welcome ageing biker from yet another ageing biker. I think that because there is a real mix of ages using this forum that makes it good. If you make a search on the forum you will find lots about wet sumping it always causes a talking point. All the best.

hello again, just got back from Lanzarote, few pound lighter and a few pound heavier, I would rather have spent it on the bike but you know how it is. any how quick update, I got the engine and gearbox out, will be sending those to a mate for a checkover, took the head off and its on +60 which I think is max oversize, whats the best route if it needs a rebore, also any tips for cleaning out oil tank, any advice greatly appreciated, cheers ab

+80s are about although some say there's not enough barrel metal left to fit them, others say they are heavy - don't know you would think if they make them they should be ok.
I went for liners and a return to standard, was obviously more expensive than a re bore but not twice as much
All the best - Bill
