Golden Flash Seat
« on: 03.01. 2011 14:24 »
Hi Folks,
Dose anyone know the best place to buy a seat for my 1960 swing arm golden flash?

I live in Whitley Bay, Tyne and wear, the closer the better.

Cheers,
Buster.

Oh and Happy new year.

Hi Buster.

You will not go far wrong with Leightons. I started this topic a while ago http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php/topic,3067.0.html
Hope this helps

Hi Buster
The seat is really comfortable and well made. As I mentioned in the post the seat is a bit wider than the previous one and the side panel is wider at the front and narrower at the back which is the reverse of earlier A10s so looks a bit differrent although I am assured that it is right for the year - it changed mid 59. The previous seat was Wassell and was crap. You can see the difference in the post I made as I photographed them side by side.
I thought the seat sat a bit high at the back so I tried the RGS right angle brackets which were still too high. In the end I hammered out a bracket similar to the existing curved one but with the ears a bit lower although I must admit that it was not easy to make as the ears bend out at a funny angle which is not 90 degrees.
