Hey guys,
It's been a long time since I got on here-too busy working to mess with my bikes but I finally got down to working on my flash and even tho' it looked 'flash' when I got it, there was a bunch of stuff to straighten out before it started behaving like one.I swapped out the oil tank for a proper A10 one, replacing the B31 oil tank that came with the bike, got the clutch fixed with some new plates and springs, put drain plugs into the forks-found out there were none in them after topping them up with oil
. Then I found the timing out, the cam ring in the magneto was worn, fixed that with a cam ring from SRM. After that fix, the timing was still dodgy. Over to the ATD, found that a mess. Refurbished the unit with new springs and replaced the worn riveted spindles that the springs hook onto. The timing was spot on after that and the bike runs great.
I need a set of down pipes for the bike now-they have Triumph pipes on them at the moment. There is a set of pipes on flea bay and they are described as pipes for a super rocket, I'm also interested in the inner and outer timing cases (super rocket) that is also for sale. I'm wondering whether the pipes and the cases would work on my 1953 plunger flash. Any advice would sure be appreciated.
Here is the ebay link in case someone else on here is looking for super rocket stuff:
