Hello, service manual says 'real tight'  *smile*
Many topics about this, try searching for head torque or similar and see if anything applies to the longstroke. example: http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=2721.msg17865#msg17865

G'day Peter, I'm not sure of the official factory spec but would say 30ft/lb should be good. The main thing is to have them done up evenly.

Back in the day (as they say) few owners would possess a torque wrench, possibly your local garage might have one to borrow (cheekily) but not guaranteed to have one either

I was once told that for my iron head I should pull down the bolts as tight as I could.

I recall (1963 ish) Joe a mechanic at Darling and Swinney's asked his boss  how tight he could pull up a big nut on a Honda "as tight as YOU can pull it" replied Jim Darling --- Piiiiiing

Ah yes when men were men

but back to subject in hand - pretty sure mine were pulled to 35lbs, main thing is pull hand tight then small steps one stud at a time in the specified order up to whatever

It has worked fine ever since. Time and money well spent.

Was looking for something in the 'Service Sheets' the other day,(probably not longstroke stuff tho') , and the advice on something critical was 'really tight', might've been bigends.....?  *eek*
