Wanted - Amal 276DP/1A Carb
« on: 13.08. 2010 08:50 »
I was wondering if anybody out there has an Amal 276DP/1A pre-monoblock carb for a 1949 A7 long stroke that is surplus to requirements. This is a 15/16 bore carb with a 6/3 slide, 140 main jet .107 needle jet and a 1A float chamber which is horizontal, bottom feed and with a nut/nipple ?

If you get stuck you could always give Martin Bratby a ring (01543 572583 - Cannock Staffs). He does all sorts of carb. work (pre-concentric) and will build a recon' one to your spec. I got my 276 from him some years ago, re-sleeved, new jets, needle etc.

Yep, I have used Martin to recondition the carbs on my 1962 export Super Rocket, B33 and Norton Model 7. He does an excellent job. I am looking for an original 276/DP carb with the correct numbers so it matches the bike. If it needs reconditioning then I will give to Martin to recondition.
