`61 Shooting Star
« on: 12.02. 2010 19:10 »
G`day
this is my shooting star that I bought four years ago, it was like this and running but there were a lot of little things to do to get it fettled. I`ve had it registered for a year now and done 500 miles trouble free, not a lot, should be more.
I don`t have any history on it but because of the Ingles of Derby transfer I guess it was a private import to Oz (are they still going)? Someone loved it enough once to set a 1961 half a crown in the damper knob. The only mods I have done are a oil filter and a belt drive for the generator.

regards Jim

Nice!
Its wee touches like that  make a bike special.
and so often gets lost when a bike is restored back to factory.

My bike has a lttle plate on the back no.plate which says "Supplied by Eric Oliver"
It was the first thing I noticed as the seller wheeled it out of his lock up. "Oh thats nice" I said.  I knew then that I'd as good as bought it *dunno*
Cheers,
and welcome
