Snow white lake
« on: 10.01. 2010 06:39 »
Actually it is snow white Lake Lefroy, near Kambalda, Western Australia.
One of the larger salt lakes in the state, amd one that has been used for motorcycle speed record attempts.

It was 40 degrees C (before 11 o'clock!) when this pic was taken today; our eight consecutive day where the temp was greater than 40!

That's Josh (Biggles) Cox ruining the picture; he was riding the Road Rocket (temporarily fitted with a Super Rocket tank).

The black '55 Flash belongs to Mario (The Italian Stallion!).

We rode on to the roadhouse at Widgiemooltha; once a boom town when gold was foung nearby.

I remember when the ABC did a radio (spoof) serial entitled "It Came From Widgiemooltha", which was about a rampaging 10 metre high killer sheep!

Now it is mid afternoon, we are experiencing a thunderstorm, and the temp is down to 35 C.

Brilliant pictures! Just what we need here to warm us up a bit. Sounds like a great place to be in Oz but all that salt! no fanks... got enough of it here on the roads at the moment.

Muskrat,
Josh is in Kalgoorlie temporarily this month, as a rostered pilot for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

He complained that it was so hot during our ride, that he could feel the heat from the road (not the bike!) on his lower legs!

Thanks for your comment re the sprung seat; I will take mine to the upholsterer and let him have a crack at it!

Richard

Had a lot of fun that day, had really bad sunburn, under my watch, put sun block on everywhere else but when riding the watch slid a little down my wrist and left a piece of pastey white skin for the burning.

Muskrat,

Now in Cairns permanently, unemployed for now.

Guess I'll have to put in some serious time at the local coffee shop sitting cross leged and sipping Latte's.

Next thing you know I'll be showering everyday, moisturising and getting extra padded high density foam covers for my bike seat. *smile*

Hay Josh, there should be a bit of mop and bucket work up there with all the rain you've been getting.

No rain in the last seven days, but prior to that it was pissing pick handles ( Erwin, this is auzzie slang, not swearing ).

Is anyone else concerned about the amount of bandwidth Orabanda is using talking about his bum lately ?.

Stops up there, starts down here, last 6 been wet. Maybe his bandwidth is too narrow, thats why he needs xtra padding.
Top looking bike Richard.
I see theres not much top soil left, it all blew over here a month or so back. I'm still washing it out of the fins.
Cheers
