Numb Bum now behind me!
« on: 24.01. 2010 14:44 »
My rigid A10 is now much more comfortable to ride!
A local upholsterer charged $40 to make a removable padded cover.

It has 3/4" of high density foam (covered by vinyl) and is held in place by velcro strips, so it can easily be removed.

However, it is so much more comfortable that its unlikely I will remove it!

G'day Richard,
Thats a great idea. You might have a market for that. Just better not let the cook see that, she will want one and I'll never get out solo again.
Cheers

Very nice bike, Richard.

Did you get it registered with that tail light on the bike?

Hi Ace,
Yep! Registered OK.
It was the same type which was on it when I got it after 50 years on a station 150 miles north east of Laverton.

She's a bueaty mate.
Same tail light as on my '51. The rego inspector wanted a brake light, but as it was a optional extra it passed without.

Foam padding, sore bum etc etc. Getting a bit soft are we, not very tough these sand gropers........................................

Just kidding Richard, I reckon your problem is probably due to the standard repo seat covers we get these days. The original ones had a layer of felt underneath but most of the ones you buy now are pretty thin. I've always found the saddle fairly comfortable but then there is always the old saying  "no sense, no feeling".
