clutch

Hi All, On my 58 A10 I have a triumph type non cush clutch,I have just fitted a SRM pressure plate and there thin push bearing. The clutch is now super light and smooth, but the clutch is slipping when I excelerate, as instructed I tightened the springs with one spring showing, I also had new friction plates and cage. The biting point is right at the end of the lever travel, and you only have to put the slightest pressure on the lever when riding and it slips, I have exagerated the free play on the end of the rod and cable to make sure all the pressure is on the clutch.One thing, how many plates are there supposed to be on this type of clutch? because mine almost fills up the cage there is just enough room for the pressure plate, is this right? and what effect would it have if I took out a metal and friction plates? The biting point is right at the end of the lever travel, and you only have to put the slightest pressure on the lever when riding and it slips

tone, that is a symptom of your pushrod having no free play, try backing off the adjuster in the middle of the pressure plate, also keep some free play in the cable as well

I have the same setup, it does give a very light clutch and mine is quite nice and progressive - works fine apart from slight drag although slackened of to the point where I worry about the lack of thread into the stud nuts.
I think I may have it too slack and it's not lifting square, need to look at it
