A10 Spitfire blanking plates
« on: 23.09. 2024 18:27 »
Hi all,

Does any body have or can point me in the right direction to buy a pair of blanking plates to fit over the redundant holes in the front engine plates where the dynamo fits on a 1957 A10 Spitfire?
I've seen them somewhere a long time ago, Maybe Klempf's but I can't find them again.

The part No is 42-4480

Thanks for looking, particularly if you can help,

Cheers Jim

It looks like they are handed - 42-4480 and 42-4481. Does one have a square hole for 32-6009?  I can't quite work it out.

Hi,

They are handed, but as far as I can see from the photo I have, its the centre hole diameter that's slightly bigger on one side. I've tried to attached a jpeg photo that's no bigger than 2048kb but it failed to upload for some reason.

Cheers Jim

That makes sense - there's a long countersunk headed screw on the TS and a larger countersunk headed nut described as a nipple on the DS.  They must be rare as hell, a quick search of my usual suspects turned up nothing.  At the least I'd expect an image or a "no stock" link!
