bergs...the answer is that a shroud is all fine and dandy at keeping oil from the clutch, and there is no reason that MWAS could not add one while you wait. Just make sure it does not bind on the driven plate tangs.
These later offerings must be repro parts, (seconds?) and only those in the know are aware of what a difference the shroud makes. If the clutch has "dry linings" it makes sense to limit the amount of oil ingress, and the tapered shroud, as Col notes, is the sensible answer.
Feked offering looks a good compromise pricewise.
