So, I've got XA7 280. Shouldn't the speedo be in the tank ? Was this attachment a US DOT import requirement?

I bet Julian has the detail or some bulletin for this. I can’t imagine 1948 or ‘49 US regulations giving a hoot about how the speedo was mounted, but I could be wrong.

I have XA7 1418 and to the best of my knowledge should/does have speedo in tank, they have a unique mount bracket and the trip reset runs to the underside of the tank.
My XA7 LS rigid is a way off from getting into the resto shed still.
