Back when Fords introduced the MK 3 Escort, all suspension component fixings were thread locked at the factory, so a breaker bar was needed to do the simplest of jobs. Replacement new bolts will have a factory coating of locker where deemed necessary, hence the recommendation where necessary to replace critical component fixings with new even when the fixings look OK for further use. This practice has continued since the 1980's.
As to yes or no, you probably spent big money at the local dealers....use your charm and find out what their workshop techs do. My thought would be to check the threads, give them a good clean and clearout and use a thread locker. I'm surprised there is no mention of any physical locking, tabs, stars, or spring washers etc. Maybe missing in action?
