Clutch adjustment

Just looking at images on web,regarding adjustment my bike doesn't have an an adjustment bolt,will I have to fit one before attempting any adjustments.

Ideally, yes you will. I stock them! Other suppliers are available!

G'day Andy.
The earlier inner covers had a thread for the adjuster on the cable. Yours being a later model didn't, just a plain hole for the cable ferrel to sit in (another cost cutting exercise). Adjustment was by the hand lever adjuster or the one under the oval cover.

I think we're getting confused between clutch adjustment and primary chain adjustment. The 'adjustment bolt' Andy is referring to is the eye-bolt on top of the gearbox. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Andy.

Hi not sure what adjustment you want to do?, is the clutch slipping or just hard to selector gears (too much pressure on plates) I have a 6 spring clutch and run the knuts up to 11 turns. turn the clutch over to see if outer plate is staying true when turning. adjust the knuts to square up. check clutch push rod is free and adjust at inspection cover gear box side with lever. The last bit is the cable adjustment on this should only be for the slack in the cable and not for clutch.

Run bike, if slipping tighten each knut 1/2 turn clockwise x 6. if gear selection is too hard then slacken each knut 1/2 turn. if you can get neutral when still you may find the clutch will slip under load. so retighten knuts 1/2 turn. thats the way it is unfortunately. good luck
