what is the acceptable amount of wobble on a 52 golden flash clutch basket with duplex chain, i can move mine about 1/4 ins in and out at the end, the centre is fine with no play, thanks

I'm assuming a Plunger frame bike. They do tend to look rather loose without causing any problems. You could try fitting a new set of rollers in the bearing.

hi, thanks for the reply, it is the plunger model, i only noticed it when i took the cover off to drain the oil so i may have a look at the bearings to be safe

G'day eggar.
As GB said there will always be a bit of wobble/rock. Best I've been able to achieve is 1/8" with new rollers.
As long as there is no in & out of the whole clutch unit when bolted up.

Hi, thanks for the reply, there is no play in and out and the clutch centre nut is nice and tight so not too worried about it

I reduced wobble on my s/a by replacing the whole unit with a plate of jelly
