A10 crank shaft pinion nut torque
« on: 14.08. 2023 10:37 »
Having recieved my engine back from rebuilder , i have started with re assembly
And have noticed lack of information on torque  values .
Can anyone tell me the torque setting for the oil pump drive gear and the locking nut
Are they torqued separate from one another?
SA hopefully getting a 53 A10 GF

There may be official torque settings for these engines but I doubt it;  torque wrenches were not readily available during the time these bikes were being made. An experienced mechanic will know how tight things should be. If you are not comfortable tightening things, use short spanners or hold a long spanner half-way along so you don't overtighten.

G'day Adtrac.
I've never used a speaking spanner for that. Just nipped up both and peened the lock washer 67-0644 over.
Cheers
