Frame rear lug dimension question
« on: 18.04. 2023 13:04 »
What is the dimension of the gap  between the two rear lugs on a 1961 A10 frame?  I think they are for the footrests?

Well my A10 rear foot pegs use these holes.

It is not so easy to measure this distance on an assembled bike. As the chain guard is in the way.

Any chance of some background on this strange question

Frame had a sidecar which in its removal has been butchered- there is some compression on the front two legs of the frame but it seems straight the rear mount has been cut off.

The distance on the RHS to swinging arm is about 0.125” more than the sidecar side so I was just thinking…..

G'day Nic  *welcome*
Yes those are for the pillion foot pegs.
I've done some searching but I can't find that dimension. Suffice to say they should be equidistant to the swing arm. I just measured mine to be 8mm gap from the s/a to tube going past.
My 57 frame was also butchered coming from South America with sidecar lugs welded on the wrong side for us. I just tweaked them to what looked right.
Now get over to "Introductions" and give us your story.

The rear bracket for the mufflers also bolts through this lug.

Good morning,

I just measured 227 mm between the lugs on my CB32 frame! I hope this helps!

Hi All,
Judging from the frame drawing where the welded on swing arm mounting plates are 9.375in.between them ,Add the thickness of one plate (1/4in?) to get the centres of the tubes = 9.625in
The pillion loop centres should be the same from what I can see ?
If I think of it I can measure a base B31 frame tomorrow  *????* *????* *????*
