Hole in gearbox 1960 A10 G/F
« on: 19.02. 2023 15:41 »
I am rebuilding my A10 and just before installing the gearbox I noticed a plain drilled 10mm hole in the casing which goes through to the gearchange shaft .
Is there supposed to be a plug in there.?
Thanks in anticipation of your advice

If the hole you are referring to is in the front of the gearbox behind the sprocket then it should be threaded and have a screw in it which locates the selector shaft. When you had the gearbox apart you would have noticed the selector shaft had a groove around one end, that is where the screw locates.

Thanks for coming back to me - the hole I refer to is at the other end of the G/box , nearer the gearshift pedal
See photo attached

Selector pivot pin goes in there, and then the selector shaft bush goes in to seal it all up. If you look closer it’ll make sense.
