In June of 2019, Big Boy was on display in West Chicago for the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. That's about 12 miles from me, so I saw it in person. I have pictures somewhere.

Heh, always rag my kids by telling them how the verge flowers die off after I've passed them on the A10, especially with the super unleaded topped up with Valvemaster+ (evil chremicals!!).  Of course, I'm not proud of it, just find it hysterically funny when they get 'faux outraged'. *wink2* *wink2* *whistle* *whistle* >:D

Yer can stick that up your *Greta Thunberg* *eek* *eek* *eek* *eek*

My mates don't like riding too close behind me. Their eyes sting with the exhaust hitting them in the face. But they can follow from a distance following the smell of castor oil *ex*
Cheers

So if you leave them behind and they don't know which turn you took, they can follow your smoke😤

4014 is a magnificant beast, a reminder of a past industrial age.
How come American oil-burners produce quite so much black smoke at times? Bad firebox control? Certainly with British coal fired steam the exhaust should be a light grey to indicate complete combustion. Anything else was bad firing.

My riding mates say the same about riding behind me when I'm on the Scott. Just the gentle aroma of chain saw oil being burnt.
