And add to French oddities the Gordini Renault dauphin ,fitted with electric clutch ! Myfirst job was a renault dealership and this flumaxed people who had driven many many years ,you put your hand on the gearchange and the clutch disengaged hilarious to see one kangarooing across the yard  ,only saw a couple ....thank god!

I've never seen one of those!

I remember, one of the French cars had gear selection by press button.

I owned a Peugeot 505 estate automatic for a year or so. It had three rows of seats, so good for outings with family and friends.

I've always found French car seats to be extremely comfortably.
