A7 out and about with youtube vid
« on: 23.09. 2022 18:05 »
I made it along to a small bike show on the A7 for the first time this weekend.
Again a huge thanks to everyone on this forum who's been a great help with this mechanical restoration.

It won't win many prizes, but I was surprised how many people looked upon it with fond eyes and it created lots of good conversation.

More importantly I've been enjoying it.

I've managed to re set the 6 spring clutch to operate well enough, and I'm finding neutral 4 times out of 5 as long as I remember to slot it in while rolling to a stop.

Brakes have improved and im riding appropriately,  but shoes will get sent away soon for reline.

Getting the hang of starting easier and forcing myself to stop for coffee more regular so I have to  re start it 🙃
Also sorted my centre stand issue (with a grinder, sorry to upset some) went for a gold star centre stand 😬

Anyway here are a couple more photos from Sunday, and a link to a short YouTube video I made a few weeks ago of it on the road.

Next few jobs, brake shoes, front fork service / new fork oil etc. Repaint mid petrol tank section to match bike (this was badly flaking so I just took it back to chrome)  plus more I have chosen to forget about for now £££

Go pro footage on YouTube below.

Mitch,

Observe the camera on the right-hand handlebar of the BMW.

Hughsie,

That was great. Another inspiration for getting my ass and wallet in gear to finish my A7.
