Beeza... Plunger rear crinkle hubs have the two bearing retainers. The early S/A hub with just one retainer seems a backward step but obviously does just a good a job.

Investigating parts lists for the early rigid bikes proved inconclusive as to whether one or two retainers are used on the rigid hubs, but if Trev is on the money there is only one used in these early versions.

Lets hope Brandis has the original front wheel and not an early S/A rear wheel masquerading as the correct part.

 Swarfy.

Thanks, Beeza.
Unlike most of the old bikes you guys have, which have been worked on for most of their lives, mine is a time capsule.  Put in storage when the engine went out and was gutted, probably in the early 50s. So I assume that all the non-engine stuff is the was as it came out of the factory. The dust caps seemed original.
I'll correct the spacer tube.
