It's the rear brake that caught my eye. Is all as it should be? Lovely looking bike though. Hopefully the mechanical side is as good as the cosmetics.

Hi All
Yes typical incorrect cable fitted resulting in a *** poor brake  *sad2*
Sadly I do not know of where to get the correct length one
So I modified one to fit, getting the angles of the levers correct and an almost straight run to the outer
gives a good brake

I'd add that the rear brake lever on the crossover shaft looks a little tight against the bottom of the Oil tank, the angle it is set to will not give the best brake performance. Not being picky, these are safety critical aspects that should never have left the workshop. At the front, the mudguard does not follow the line of the rim very well as the lower stay has a forward kink to it, and the front brake lever setting has little in reserve.

Looks to be a good oil tight motor, enjoy the clean pristine finish while you can....and turn off the petrol whenever the bike is parked up. Those olde worlde taps are strictly manual.

I'd like to know the colour product they used, there must be a good few golds in the modern automotive lexicon, this shade looks a good match for the original tint.

Verry nice looking bike.
I have noticed that the shape of your oilpressure releave valve could never hold a spring and Ball.
That would concern me quite a bit.

Hi Mr Cooper, judging from the pics, I think the suppliers of your beautiful bike are the folk I bought mine from in the West Mids, Nice chaps.
Are you based in the midlands? If so I’ll probably bump into you at the cafe at Quatt sometime.
Enjoy.

Just a small thing I noticed. The cotter pin for the kickstarter is inserted from the wrong side. Doing that positions the kicker a bit more anticlockwise than it should be, which reduces it's movement.

Here's some pics of my 1960 GF that may help, as a reference to previous comments:-
Showing cotter pin (as GB says above with nut on top).
Back of the mudguard stay does have some kink at back, also shows rear brake activating lever (to compare with yours).

Yes, a lovely looking bike  *smiley4*
