Someone is looking for this transmission
« on: 19.07. 2022 15:32 »
Bought in a flea market in Bakersfield California.
No one seems to know what it is.  Made in England.  Looks lie a very early Burman.
I'm happy to send it to someone who's stumped.

Hi Brandis,
There should be some letters stamped on the casing that will help identify what type/ model Burman it is

Not much to go by.   I sent photos to a fancy
national Trust supported motorcycle museum and they were stumped.
I think you will agree, it is a very early model.  My guess is that it would go with a 350cc motor?

Being a Burman (?) everything spins and shifts well.  Of course.

The 'MADE IN ENGLAND' looks very poorly stamped. Hard to believe that Burman would have done such a poor job.

Yes it's a 3-speed Burman. Fitted to smaller bikes - it was used on the popular 350 'Red Panther'. I have one too.

If anyone with a related project needs it, tell me your tale and it's yours, free.  Just pay the shipping.

Approx. what year would it be?
