Parts wanted
« on: 28.03. 2022 16:45 »
As I have finally bought a 63 frame I now need some parts.:
A swinging arm for a cotton reel hub
Toolbox and oil tank
Probably lots of other parts so if you have anything you think may be of use.

I should be able to help with most things but can't help with a swinging arm. The later type can be converted. You need to remove the lugs (big angle grinder!), weld on a plate for the torque arm, weld on a couple of mounts for the chainguard and make some sleeves for the swinging arm spindle. You can use the solid spindle type bushes or you can go for a bronze bush conversion. Been there, done that!

Thank you for the advice , I am not so sure ebay is a friend , the items I have decided to bid on have a tendancy to be withdrawn. I have bought a swinging arm , attacking it with an angle grinder I can manage  I will trust someone else to weld it.  Do the GA10 frames have solid swinging arm bearings ? Graham

If you have a DA10 frame it is for a Rocket Gold Star. They use the silentboc bushings. The swing arm is the same as the Gold Star.

Isn’t an RGS frame stamped GA10?  Is DA10 in your post a typo?

Yes, it is a typo. That's what happens when you think you know but do not look to be sure. DA10 would be the engine number. A thousand pardons for my mistake! Lloyd L

Don’t beat yourself up. I’m sure you won’t.

I wish I could say such errors were never mine but…
