Learn from my experience
« on: 11.04. 2022 16:54 »
Not bike but car, decided to have a couple of new tyre's fitted at home by mobile tyre fitter, the guy came and made a start, but 5 mins later was knocking my door, the locking wheel nut tool did not fit, so the last time the garage had the wheels off I was given back the wrong tool back. No new tyre's and now left with trying to identify correct tool, bugger.

That could be expensive. Apparently the safety tool is like the ignition key - unique to each vehicle, though I understand some garages have a 'one-fits-all' tool. When I found I needed a tool for my Ford Focus I was told the chassis no had to be sent away as they cut the tool in Germany. I cut the 'safety' bolts off and replaced them with ordinary (ford) ones.

Most good garages will remove them. Won’t be any use afterwards though.
