Here is a slightly later version. I met the owner in Feb 2016 whose name I cannot recall immediately. He had not long returned home from riding this bike from Australia to the FN factory in Netherlands. He wrote a book called "No Room for Watermelons" about this journey, the title referring to the villagers he met in the Middle East who offered him a watermelon. When he arrived at the FN factory (which no longer makes motorcycles) he was met by a crowd of employees including the Manager, who asked him why he rode such a long way. When he replied jokingly "I have a couple of warranty issues", the manager replied Tongue-in-cheek "Oh sorry, we only warrant them for 100 years and you are 1 year too late". Nevertheless, they rebuilt many parts of the bike for him. He contemplated riding it back home, but the trip had taken much out of him as he was over 70, so he shipped it back home. The book is a great read.
