Front fork slider circlip alternative

Hi all, I am sure I have read somewhere that you can do away with the circlip that holds the top bush in place with a flanged washer type thing that sits on top of the bush and compresses down when you screw the oil seal hold.  I have searched the internet but can’t seem to find anything.  Any one know anything about such a thing?

I fitted them to my A10 2 years ago, they work perfectly but make sure you get them to fit properly. Full story here:-

On the mid '60s A65s etc., the circlip was done away with and a crushable spacer 42-5134 was used.  It was introduced to do away with the shimming often needed under the circlip to stop the upper bush clacking up and down when on the road.  If my memory serves me correctly, I've fitted these to A10 forks OK.

Did mine during fork overhaul last year, remember had to dremel them alittle to fit, works a treat, and get rid of the dreaded circlip.
